Australian BirdsAustralian Birds was first published in 1967 and was a huge success in every way. The book became the 'bible' for bird enthusiasts Australia-wide and remains one of the great works in its field, remaining the most comprehensive treatment of its subject to date.
Every known Australian bird, including introduced species and the rarest vagrants, is described in the text of this book. All of the 714 Australian species, but for a few of the vagrants, are illustrated in detail. The first edition of 10,000 sold out as soon as it reached the bookshops. Several additional printings were issued and a Revised Edition followed in 1976. Australian Birds Melbourne: Thomas Nelson, 1967.
